Privacy & data protection
This portal handles personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR). Here is exactly what that means in practice.
What we collect
Your name, contact details, state and local government area, and the profile details you choose to share such as gender, age range, occupation, skills and availability. Support groups also provide group details. Uploads (a photo or an ID document) are optional.
Why we collect it
To verify that you are a real person, to place you in the right state and local government structure, to assign tasks that match your skills, and to send you movement updates. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Who can see it
Only you and authorised coordinators and administrators. State coordinators can see members in their own state. Uploaded identity documents are visible only to you and national administrators. All access is logged.
How it is protected
Data is stored in an encrypted, access-controlled database. Every table enforces row-level security, so a request can only return records the signed-in person is entitled to see. Files are kept in private storage that is never publicly readable.
Your rights under the NDPR
You may view and correct your record at any time from your dashboard, withdraw consent to messaging, or request that your record be deleted. Deletion requests are actioned by an administrator and recorded in the audit trail.
Retention
Records are kept for as long as you remain part of the movement. Rejected or withdrawn registrations are removed once any appeal window has passed.
